A Swiss Canadian currently based in Amsterdam, Nadine truly enjoys engaging with carbon market actors about digital MRV – and SustainCERT. In her role as Business Development Director, Environmental Markets, Nadine does much more than tell our story – admittedly, pretty well though. She drives conversations on digital verification and connects with strategic partners to pilot, iterate and bring our verification solutions to market.
With over 15 years of experience in managing carbon funds, developing various carbon mitigation programs, and designing climate strategies, Carbon Markets have no secret for Nadine. Why does bringing credibility to climate action matter to you?
I feel strongly about intergenerational ethics, it’s our moral obligation to future generations to not exceed the critical temperature threshold of 1.5 degrees. The only way to do this is to show credible climate action through robust verification.
What’s the most exciting thing you’ve ever done or seen before?
The most interesting thing I’ve ever done is setting up cookstove programs in rural areas of Ethiopia, but I would say raising a 2-year-old is definitely quite exciting!
Regarding the most interesting sight, the Venezuelan Tepuis Mountain Range has a special place in my heart.
What do you like doing in your free time?
I truly like biking around Amsterdam with my son and stopping by for a snack at the main hotspots in the city. I also enjoy hiking in forests and mountains, and backpacking in South East Asia, (always travelling by train)!
Would you rather spend a week in the forest or a night in a real haunted house? Why?
As a secret tree hugger, I would choose without any doubt forest.
